Who We Are

Founded by lifelong Jersey Shore locals with more than twenty years of hands-on construction experience, Atlantic Building Company was built on a passion for quality craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and strong community relationships. As a small design-build company, we take pride in offering a personalized building experience rooted in honesty, communication, and attention to detail.

Growing up and working along the Jersey Shore has given us a deep understanding of coastal construction, timeless architecture, and the unique character of the communities we serve. From initial design concepts through final construction, we work closely with every client to create custom homes that reflect their lifestyle while standing the test of time.

Mike Taratuski

Senior Project Manager

With 25 years of construction experience, Mike grew up working alongside his father, gaining hands-on experience in residential renovations and new home construction from an early age. After starting his own construction business nearly a decade ago, he continued building his expertise by managing residential projects and constructing custom homes, including throughout the Jersey Shore.

Mike joined Atlantic Building Company as a Project Manager, overseeing each home’s construction from start to finish. From coordinating subcontractors and schedules to maintaining quality control and communicating with homeowners, he takes a hands-on approach to keeping every project moving smoothly.

Mike enjoys watching a home come together from the foundation to the finished space. He believes that strong relationships, clear communication, and attention to detail are essential to a successful building experience. His goal is simple: to deliver each homeowner a beautiful home built with quality craftsmanship.

Will Clauser

Field Supervisor

Will brings 13 years of construction experience to Atlantic Building Company. He began his career through an apprenticeship with Carpenters Local 254, where he developed a strong foundation in carpentry, residential construction, and hands-on problem solving. After completing his apprenticeship, Will opened a home remodeling company and continued expanding his experience by managing projects and working directly in the field.

Before joining Atlantic full-time, Will spent four years working with the company as a trim subcontractor. His craftsmanship, reliability, and familiarity with Atlantic’s standards made him a natural fit for the team, and he was eventually convinced to come aboard as a Field Supervisor.

Will now provides general oversight of our job sites, coordinating schedules, subcontractors, employees, material orders, and quality control. He takes pride in keeping each project organized, maintaining high construction standards, and addressing field challenges as they arise.

What Will enjoys most is building beautiful homes and seeing homeowners appreciate the finished result. He believes attention to detail, clear communication, and a hands-on approach are essential to delivering a successful home-building experience.

Tom Stevenson

Warranty / Service Coordinator

Tom grew up in North Jersey and was introduced to home remodeling and new construction at an early age while working for his older brother. After high school, he continued to build his expertise, spending eight years in commercial building prefabrication, 13 years as a union carpenter and plasterer foreman, and four years as a project coordinator for American Panel Tec.

Tom served as a modular home building field supervisor for over a decade before transitioning to his role as Warranty & Service Coordinator at Atlantic Building Company.

Maura Bradley

Project Coordinator

Maura brings a strong background in design, project coordination, and client experience to Atlantic Building Company. She studied at Parsons School of Design in New York City while working at Gensler, a globally renowned architecture and design firm, where she spent seven years specializing in commercial interiors, followed by three years at IA Interior Architects.

After moving to the Jersey Shore, Maura shifted her focus to family and community, founding Bee You Yoga, becoming a Certified Mindfulness Instructor, and authoring Mindfulness for Kids in 10 Minutes a Day. Her work during this time reinforced the importance of communication, organization, and the creation of positive client experiences.

Maura returned to the design and construction industry in 2023 and now oversees all office operations, marketing and digital presence, and the client selection process at Atlantic Building Company. She works one-on-one with each homeowner to guide selections and coordinates ordering and scheduling to ensure a smooth, well-organized experience from design through construction.

Taylor Brink

Principal / Director of Construction

Taylor brings more than 15 years of hands-on construction experience to his role as Co-Owner and Director of Construction at Atlantic Building Company. He oversees all field operations, leading crews, coordinating trades, and ensuring every home is built to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Taylor joined Atlantic Modular Builders to expand his knowledge of residential construction and quickly became an integral part of the team under the mentorship of Terrance and seasoned industry professionals. After several years, he further broadened his expertise by partnering with his uncle, who successfully operated a general contracting company for more than three decades.

Through his experience at Atlantic and running a renovation company, Taylor developed a comprehensive understanding of the building process—from site preparation and rough trades through final construction and quality control. His hands-on approach, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence are critical to delivering custom homes that meet both design intent and structural integrity.

Terrance Hegel

Founder

Construction has been a lifelong passion of mine. After earning my undergraduate degree, I began my career as a project manager for a large builder in North Carolina. A few years later, I furthered my education with an MBA and a Master’s in City Planning from the University of North Carolina. In 2002, I returned to the East Coast with one goal: to build a career in construction. The following year, I built my own home using modular construction and became convinced of its potential to transform the industry.

Today, I’m fortunate to work alongside a dedicated team of talented professionals and skilled subcontractors who bring our projects to life. Outside work, I enjoy time with my beautiful wife and three children, who keep life busy and fulfilling.

Ryan Meyers

Ryan Meyers

Principal / Design Director

Growing up on the Jersey Shore, Ryan was always inspired by the area’s diverse and distinctive coastal architecture. Since 2003, he has been designing custom homes along the coast, helping homeowners bring unique visions to life through thoughtful design and careful attention to detail.

As Co-Owner and Design Director of Atlantic Building Company, Ryan designs every custom home and works closely with each client from the initial meeting through move-in day. He is deeply involved in the overall design process, guiding homeowners through floor plan development, architectural decisions, and planning stages that lay the foundation for a successful build.

Following Hurricane Sandy’s devastation in 2012, Ryan joined the Atlantic Modular Builders team to help meet the urgent need for high-quality housing solutions along the Jersey Shore. Since then, he has played a key role in shaping innovative, forward-thinking projects and helping evolve the company into what is now Atlantic Building Company.

Ryan takes great pride in collaborating with clients and the build team alike, believing that strong communication, creativity, and hands-on involvement are essential to delivering exceptional custom homes.
